Potassium Hydroxide, also known as caustic potash or by the chemical name KOH is the lye that we use in the liquid soap-making process.
If you are not familiar with this process, the liquid soap-making process is essentially the hot process soap-making method, followed by a water dilution phase.
Potassium Hydroxide can be used to make any liquid soap including hand soap, shower gel, bath gel, shampoo, even liquid laundry detergent!
